You have 5 seconds
On average a recruiter spends 5 seconds looking at a CV before discarding it. You have a 5 second window, and nothing more. I would know, working in recruitment for more than 10 years and having reviewed 100,000+ CVs in this time. How will you make sure you are not one of the many?
Let's face it, applying for a role can be absolutely petrifying. "I can't possibly be good enough." "I don’t have what it takes." "It’s pointless to even try to apply to that job." How many times have you said these things to yourself or have heard friends and colleagues say them? You somehow get over the pressure of those thoughts, to then have to confront the endless list of dilemmas of writing your CV:
I'm determined to change all of that. I will be teaching you skills that will have you write a CV like a pro. From there, I will share all the tricks and tips to make you stand out even BEFORE you apply. Yeah, applications never start with the CV.
We all have a story. Here is mine
I believe that anyone on earth can achieve their goals through discipline, unwavering faith in oneself and a heck of a lot of hard work.
I remember applying to uni. Then finishing uni, Though, the same question lingered: what in the world am I going to do with myself?
The priority list was always the same
1) don’t starve
2) potentially have enough money to make rent
If I were to be REALLY lucky
3) enjoy what I am doing
4) have a future from it and 5) do I list my side hustles and interests or are they irrelevant?
I got really lucky (and worked my behind for it), and after 2 rejections, the 3rd time I got my dream job with my dream company, Microsoft.
My passion is helping people find their way along the same journey.
How it works
You get in touch, You can use the messaging option in the contact section. Or carrier pigeon. Whatever works for you.
Before our online session, you will send me a copy of your CV. However bad it looks like, even if it seems the dog ate it. Whatever, the good, the bad, the ugly. If you want to get more out of it, have a job in mind you want to apply to.
We will then schedule a 30 minutes online session where we will make the whole thing less painful and a heck lot more aimed at actually getting you a job. If you are based in a different time zone, we will find an option that works for both you and I, not to worry this won't be a midnight CV coaching exercise!
The price per session is £45, and payment is done in full before the online session through PayPal (they accept all type of cards from all over the world).
How it doesn't work
I am not going to be a crystal ball gazer who tells you what you should do in your career.
I am not going to refer you to the company I work for, or intervene in any way for your potential applications. I will not consult on anything to do with MSFT, recruitment at MSFT, or discuss this topic in any way.
I am not going to be writing the CV for you. YOU have to do the work and develop skills to continue to do so long after our session.
With her decades of experience in recruiting for a world-leading company, Ioana helped me to not only write a good CV, but she told me all the little details that helped me write a CV that stands out (and helped me to get an interview at my dream company)
